Nursing Home Management is rubbish.
Well it's not, but you know what I mean.
Shoestring budgets are rubbish, directors breathing down your neck is rubbish. CQC expecting you to evidence every little thing is, well that's sensible, but it is also rubbish when there's a million and one other things you'd like to be making sure is done/doing yourself.
Most of which involve putting in to practice great ideas to improve the quality of life for that lovely group of over 65's, who you rarely get to spend any time with any more.
Lord knows the reason why every other week is 60 hours long, is because you care so deeply about them.
Could your situation be better?
In 90% of care home companies the answer is no. Registered management means all of the above, plus motivating by hook or by crook, minimum wage workers to bend over backwards, or bending over backwards yourself.
So how about a role where resources are anything but scarce, because the owners have a rather canny business model and an even cannier care philosophy?
A care philosophy and policies that truly recognise the importance of residents AND staff AND relatives.
How about a post where activities mean enriching experiences, not bingo? Where enablement means movement sensitive lighting systems in each room, that can guide your residents to the loo in the night?
You'd manage a place like that in exchange for a meagre £70000 per year plus bells and whistles wouldn't you? Especially if your staff were paid over the odds and had access to one of the best training programmes the industry has ever seen?

I am looking for an elderly care Registered Manager.
You will have experience of breaking eggs to make omelettes and you'll know when and why that sometimes needs to be done.
You will relish creating a buzz about a place where people are truly proud to live and work.
If you were a stick of rock and we cut you in half, it would probably say NICE or CQC and you'll also know your way around a P&L.
Chances are you probably prefer a fair amount of autonomy but value the input of like minded colleagues whose opinion you can respect. You got it.
