This large nursing home (70+ beds) is seeking a new manager to take over the helm and keep this ship on course. The home is being handed over in good shape; it has a Good CQC in all 5 areas which is great. There is some work to do on the occupancy so you need to be confident and enjoy marketing and building links with the community and also the local authority as there is a pretty even split between self-funded occupancy and local authority referrals. This company is very proud of that split, and they have no desire to be a fully private fee payer organisation.

Part of a larger group, this role would suit someone who is seeking to work with an employer which is well established and although is the size of a medium-large corporate, is still focussed on that family-feel experience in their homes. Here, you are very much seen as an individual, not just one of the numbers. The senior management team knows all of their Home Managers personally, and your wellbeing is their priority. And this cascades down into all they do; so much so, they have won numerous accolades over the last 5 years within the care industry. You will receive lots of support, and your reporting line manager has been in post for many, many years.

So who are we looking for? If you are:

  • Someone who has experience of managing a larger home already (60+ beds)
  • You could be a registered nurse, although this is not essential if you have the experience of managing a larger home
  • Level 5 qualification would be desirable but not essential, however you must be willing to work towards if you don't already hold this

In return, the role attracts:

  • £60,000 salary
  • Bonus scheme relating to KPI performance
  • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
